Where things are

Server address

Top of the server page: yourserver.takgrid.com:8089. Scout and Ranger: server.takgrid.com.

Passwords for the services (dedicated servers: Grunt, Command)

Server page, Actions, Service Credentials. It lists the address, username and password for:

  • the TAK Server admin page (https://yourserver.takgrid.com:8446); the browser warns about the certificate, continue past the warning. Do not create users there, use User Management.
  • CloudTAK, Node-RED and Mumble.

Scout and Ranger have no Service Credentials page; those services are managed by Takgrid.

Mumble asks for a password

It wants the Mumble server password from Service Credentials, not your TAK user's password. To edit channels, log in with a desktop Mumble client as Superuser with the superuser password from the same page. In ATAK, voice runs through the Vx plugin or the standalone Mumble app.

Certificate files and data packages

Most devices never need a file: they connect with address, username and password. For hardware, scripts or Node-RED: User Management, the download icon on the user ("Download credentials"), choose ATAK data package or PEM files, enter that user's password.

Logs of who connected

Not in the dashboard. On a dedicated server, the TAK Server admin page (port 8446) lists the clients and can export history.

SSH (dedicated servers)

Download the key from the server's Actions, then ssh -i /path/to/key.pem root@yourserver.takgrid.com.

VPN (dedicated servers)

  • Create client profiles on the VPN page (WireGuard, OpenVPN or IKEv2).
  • After a server reset the old profiles stop working: create new ones and import them again.
  • There are two modes: full internet through the VPN, or server-only. In server-only mode normal internet stops while the VPN is on; that is by design.

Signing in to takgrid.com

There is no password. Enter your email and click the link we send. It can take two or three minutes.

Changing plan

Scout to Ranger or back: Deploy Server, pick the other plan; team and users stay. From a seat to a dedicated server (Grunt, Command) there is no upgrade: it is a new server, and the old subscription has to be cancelled. Write to support before you switch and we help you move your users.
